Manhao Spa Opening Hours: Doors and Therapists Both at 14:00

Manhao Spa opens at 14:00. Therapists are on shift from that same hour, the doors close at 06:00, and there is no overnight stay.

Doors and staff starting together means everything in the building is already running. Between 14:00 and 19:00 the bath hall, the marble dining hall and the starlight lounge are all in use, and you can take those three places in daylight, before you go anywhere near the showcase hall. The night half of the evening is still there afterwards, untouched.

This is written for anyone staying on Taipa or in Cotai with an afternoon to spare. Book through this site and a private car collects you at your hotel at the time you name, and your name is already at the front desk when you walk in. Two of the eight add-on mini services come free, and you pick which two on site, once you are there. First place: the marble locker room and the bath hall

The locker room is a long, narrow room, white marble veined in rust on one side and dark wood-grain lockers facing it. Robe and towels are provided, so a passport is the only thing you need to bring.

The bath hall has three parts: showers, sauna and jacuzzi. A row of amenities sits under the mirror and the tubs are up a few steps with a handrail. At this hour of the afternoon there is no reason to hurry any of it.

Second place: the marble dining hall

A plate at three in the afternoon is neither lunch nor dinner. Steak, seafood, fried rice, noodle soup and sandwiches are on the menu, with soft drinks, coffee, tea and milk tea inside the price; only spirits and wine are charged separately. You sit at the veined black marble table under the gold fan-pattern wall, and the question of what to do about dinner quietly stops being a question.

Third place: the starlight lounge

The ceiling in the lounge is a night sky whatever the clock says. At three in the afternoon Taipa outside is still in daylight and this room has already gone to night. You lie on a bouclé recliner in the house robe, and the lounge is free to use within opening hours. A wall of banded agate panels glows from inside, and it tells you at once which building you are in.

Stars first, neon after: the multi-level showcase hall, edged in deep-blue neon, reads best once it is dark outside, so arriving there with the three afternoon places already behind you is the right order.

By the time you walk the mural corridor towards the hall, there are no windows left to tell you the hour. That is where the front half ends and the night takes over.

Before an afternoon visit, the things worth checking

If I arrive at 14:00 sharp, can I still choose a therapist?

Yes. The therapist shift begins the moment the doors open. If you already have a preference, add a line when you book and we pass it on for the day.

Come in the afternoon and do I miss the showcase hall?

Not at all — the hall is open to walk through the whole time. The deep-blue neon simply carries further once it is dark outside, so even on an afternoon visit we suggest saving the hall until after sunset.

The steam shower — is that in the bath hall?

No. The steam shower room, with its wet and dry areas kept apart, and the private jacuzzi bath belong to the rooms rather than to the bath hall, which has showers, sauna and jacuzzi. Which room carries which is set out on rooms and suites.

Does the car run in the daytime?

Yes, at any time within opening hours. Tell us your hotel and the arrival time you would like. The private car is free both ways and covers all of Macau.
