Not the sauna you're picturing — it's much more
Elsewhere, "sauna" means a hot room and a cold plunge. A Macau sauna (known locally as a 水療 spa or 桑拿 sauna club) is a complete relaxation complex: sauna, bath pools, rest lounges, dining and massage all under one roof. The local way to enjoy it is to settle in and stay for a few unhurried hours.
Manhao Spa is the new star, opened in 2026 inside the Grandview Hotel in Taipa. With one of Macau's largest showcase halls glowing in deep-blue neon, the signature red water-bed and multinational therapists, it's the one we most recommend to first-timers.
From booking to your room, in seven steps
Once you arrive, staff guide you through each stage, so even first-timers never feel lost. Plan on around 2–3 hours for the full experience.
-
Book Ahead
One message on WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE or WeChat is all it takes — English is fine. Tell us your arrival time, group size and any room or therapist preferences. Book through this site for a free private shuttle plus 2 free add-on mini services (bookings made through this site only).
-
Free Shuttle
A private car picks you up free of charge from any Cotai hotel, Macau Airport or the Taipa Ferry Terminal. From central Cotai the drive takes about 5 minutes.
-
Reception & Passport
Head to the front desk inside the Grandview Hotel in Taipa. Your name is already with reception from your booking, so on the day you simply show your passport and walk right in.
-
Lockers & Bathing
Change in the marble locker room. Towels and amenities are fully provided, so you can arrive empty-handed. Start with the showers, sauna and jacuzzi and let the travel fatigue melt away.
-
Rest & Dining
After bathing, stay in your robe and unwind on a recliner in the starlight lounge, or have a meal in the marble dining hall. No rush — take everything at your own pace.
-
Choosing Your Therapist — the Showcase Hall
This is the highlight of Manhao. In one of Macau's largest multi-level showcase halls, glowing with deep-blue neon, you choose your favorite from our multinational therapists. You can also send your preferences ahead by WhatsApp.
-
Relax in Your Room
Enjoy your massage in a fully private room — the signature red water-bed room or a mural themed suite. Pairing it with an add-on mini service (8 kinds, about 20 minutes each) is a favorite combination.
14:00 to 06:00 — no overnight stays
Manhao Spa is open 14:00 – 06:00 daily. Therapist hours match the opening hours, so whether you come in the afternoon or after midnight, you get the full service. Note that overnight stays are not possible — the venue closes at 06:00. During opening hours you can use the free starlight lounge and paid private rest rooms. If you'd like somewhere to sleep, message us on WhatsApp and we'll recommend a 24-hour sister venue.
What it costs, and a word on currency
Public prices run MOP 1,199 – 6,188, plus 5% tourism tax and 5% service charge. For course details and durations, see the Prices & Menu page. Add-on mini services (8 kinds, about 20 minutes each) — book through this site and two of them are free (bookings made through this site only).
Payment is by cash, credit card, WeChat Pay or Alipay. The local currency is the Macau pataca (MOP), but Hong Kong dollars (HKD) are accepted everywhere as a matter of course. Exchange counters are easy to find in casinos and around town — though if you pay by card, you can skip the exchange run almost entirely.
Book through this site and the price we quote in advance is the price you pay — no surprises on arrival.
What to bring, and the etiquette to know
- Bring your passport — it's required for ID at reception.
- Towels, robes and amenities are all provided — you can arrive with essentially nothing.
- Keep valuables in your locker. Phones are fine to carry, but ask staff before taking photos inside.
- Tipping is not required. The price we quote in advance already includes the 5% tourism tax and 5% service charge.
- Weekends and holidays get busy — booking ahead is the surest way in.
